I have been creating an app with JQM and Phonegap (not something I will do again) however I need to finish it. I am getting a problem with memory.

Firstly the app basically imports a csv file of information and displays it on the screen. It's not a heavy csv file, maybe one or two kilobytes. However on more powerful devices it runs, but with 150 mb memory usage.

I am testing it on an older phone, a Samsung gt_i8190 and it keeps crashing with a HEAP MEMORY CORRUPTION IN tmalloc_large. This message is coming from libc.

I would love to give you more information but I really am lacking it, since I have limited experience with android development. Is there a way for me to do memory profiling and see who and where large amounts of memory are being allocated.

If you ahve any idea's on how to fix the problem please tell me. Whats even more frustrating is I am not dealing with the NDK here, or even Java. I've only dealt with javascript and HTML in phonegap. I still however need this to work. Is it a bug in phonegap?

I'd appreciate any and all help. I can't post any code just now, but I will come back and update the question when I can.

Further experiments have shown this to be difficult to reproduce. It worked fine for example on an android 4.1.2 virtual device.

It crashes when you import the file? Can you strip out the all unnecessary code to help with debugging? What information are you getting in logcat? Which version of Phonegap are you using? –  MBillau Aug 16 '13 at 17:31
