I started a mobile module project with the following service class:

My modul is loading into my Titanium app just fine and the kroll method in the module, that calls the service looks like this

The log shows a success, but the actual service's logs in onCreate and onStart actually never fire..

Any idea what i am doing wrong?

The problem was in the way I was setting intent..

instead of:

backOverlayService = new Intent();
backOverlayService.setClassName("com.eliddell.testservice", "ForegroundService.class");

I use:

backOverlayService = new Intent(TiApplication.getAppCurrentActivity(), ForegroundService.class);
