How can i use an asynctask with a navigation drawer. The current code gives me this error:

Your program crashes because you are handing an Array with only 1 element to the AsyncTask.

But inside doInBackground() you are accessing params[1] which will result in an IndexOutOfBoundsException.

String planet = getResources().getStringArray(R.array.planets_array)[i];
JSONWeatherTask task = new JSONWeatherTask();
task.execute(new String[]{planet});

Inside doInBackground:

String data = ( (new WeatherHttpClient()).getWeatherData(params[0], params[1]));

I recommend that you do it this way:

String [] planet = getResources().getStringArray(R.array.planets_array);
JSONWeatherTask task = new JSONWeatherTask();

That error seems as if your JSONParser is running into a NullPointerException while parsing. –  Philipp Jahoda Sep 7 '13 at 10:11
the same jsonparser in another app without the navigation drawer implementation works fine? –  GibranG Sep 7 '13 at 10:17
