I was following developers.android search example for making searchableActivity that searches databes for querry and shows it in activity:

http://developer.android.com/training/search/setup.html http://developer.android.com/training/search/search.html

but it doesnt work...

here is my whole code:

i have puted my whole code... could someone tell me what i am doing wrong... i checked example and everything is ok...

problem is when i press search button it doesent do anything

i am testing app on 4.1.2 version, if that means something

For one thing, handleIntent(this.getIntent()); inside onNewIntent(Intent) should be handleIntent(intent);. –  Vikram Sep 12 '13 at 18:15

onNewIntent(Intent) has a specific purpose. I was only pointing out that handleIntent(this.getIntent()); will use the old Intent. Before this statement, you should use setIntent(intent) to update the Activity's intent. Second, if(intent.ACTION_SEARCH.equals(intent.getAction())) should be if(Intent.ACTION_SEARCH.equals(intent.getAction())). ACTION_SEARCH is a static constant. –  Vikram Sep 12 '13 at 18:22
    
problem is that it doesnt eaven come to that part of the code... SearchResoultActivity isnt called yet... when i pres search button nothing happens, thats the problem... if(intent.ACTION_SEARCH.equals(intent.getAction())) should be if(Intent.ACTION_SEARCH.equals(intent.getAction())) ?? whats diference? –  toskebre Sep 12 '13 at 18:25

I would suggest looking through the sample project SearchableDictionary. Location ==> [sdk installation folder on your hard drive] > [samples] > [android-xx (example: android-17)] > [SearchableDictionary]. Compare its contents with your own project. –  Vikram Sep 12 '13 at 20:03
