I'm trying the "cross origin upload" example of the course "HTML 5 Power" by Andy Olsen (lynda.com and video2brain).

I can upload, and on the server it says "Upload to server complete". But the file is not on the server. Why ?

Pretty sure. I search entire C:, not there. And it should be in a new 'upload' folder on server root, which is C:\cou (var targetLocation = "localhost:9999/upload";) –  trogne Sep 24 '13 at 14:56
You're not doing anything with the POST data on the server part. You are sending the message, but you need to do something with x = self.rfile.read(1). The only thing you're doing here is to override x every time –  Paco Sep 24 '13 at 14:56

This loop reads and discards the uploaded data.

    while bytes_read < content_length:
        x = self.rfile.read(1)
        bytes_read += 1

OK. But what should I do to not discard the file, and have the file in the 'upload' folder? What is actually discarding ? –  trogne Sep 24 '13 at 15:13
You need to parse the incoming data, according to the Content-Type header. If there are files in the incoming data, you need to open() a local file and copy the data to it. There may be libraries to make those tasks easier. –  Robᵩ Sep 24 '13 at 15:21
