I'm a C++ noob and this is my first time working with pointers and stacks together. Anyways, I'm trying to build an expression tree using two stacks. One holds the operators and the other holds the operands.

I'm basing it off of what I read in a data structures book and an algorithm that our professor showed us here.

Once the tree is built, I simply need to print out the traversals. I already know how I can achieve this. My problem comes when actually trying to build the tree. Every time I run my program, I keep getting the error "Debug Assertion Failed!" followed by "Expression: deque iterator not dereferencable."

While looking this error up, it seems that it occurs a lot if you don't check that your stack is empty before attempting to use ".pop()" or ".top()." I tried fixing this in my program, but I still get the error. I'm assuming maybe I am deleting my pointers in the wrong spots?

Well I see u have a problem in the statement temp1->right = operands.top(); U have just pushed an Operator and u are trying to pop a operand stack which is empty –  sameer karjatkar Oct 9 '13 at 7:33
