I've created a netfilter target module that manipulates ICMP packets. Of course, chksum recalculation is needed. Chksum calculation is done right if skb->len <= 562 bytes (actual paylout subtracting IPv4 header <= 542 bytes).

It seems like when exceeding that size there are only word-fields containing 0 or 1 (the 16-bit-values 1 and 0, not arbitrary permutations of those two numbers) but not my actual data I've expected (checked with wireshark, actual data exists).

I use the module for both INPUT and OUTPUT chain within the 'mangle'-table, for testing I'm using "-t mangle -A INPUT -p icmp".

I'm using the following code for chksum calculation:

I do not want to stick to my solution if there is some better way to do checksum calculation. I've just reduced my code to checksum calculation because that is the part that's failing. If there is some simple way to recalculate the chksum I'd use that, of course. Anyway, I'd really be interested why I don't see my actual data exceeding 562 bytes.
