With some additional conversion you can use 24-bit WAV files with the `wave`

module from the standard library.

Of course, you could also use `scikits.audiolab`

, but be aware there is currently (version 0.11.0) a bug (https://github.com/cournape/audiolab/issues/3) when using types other than `np.float64`
