I have two tables: USERS and ROLES_MAP, and FK between them. When adding data to these tables, users table looks good, but username_u in table roles_map is missing. Can somebody tell me where is wrong?

Try setting both ends of the association: i.e. for each role: role.setUser(user); –  Alan Hay Nov 11 '13 at 15:34

when i change this, i have error like this Error creating bean with name 'SessionFactory' defined in ServletContext resource [/WEB-INF/classes/baseBeans.xml]: Invocation of init method failed; nested exception is org.hibernate.AnnotationException: mappedBy reference an unknown target entity property: com.patpuc.model.RolesMap.User in com.patpuc.model.User.rolesMap. when i change getters and setters to getUser setUser and mappedBy="User" in rolesMap.java –  tommy Nov 11 '13 at 16:01
    
I think I gave you the answer in my previous comment. Have you tried it? User is the non-owning side of the relationship (the one with mapped-by) and therefore you MUST set both sides to have your persist cascaded. –  Alan Hay Nov 11 '13 at 16:27
