# Count iteration MergeSort

I need to count the changes made ​​between the elements. Where to place counter to count inversions of elements ? When I create an ordered array ascending, however the results get n-1 iterations, but it should be 0.

I don't suppose you have something that compiles ? And I think you want to count the number of times you switch from one subsequence to the the other, but without a more concrete definition (and a wouldn't-that-be-nice-to-see sample) its difficult to say. –  WhozCraig Nov 12 '13 at 21:07
