# Looping Through Dictionary Values in Python

I have a script that calculates the average of all quiz, homework, and exam scores of all students in a course. Then, I want it to compare how each student did on each item compared to the average for the item using dictionaries. How could I go about this?

If you were using `numpy`, half of these functions would be standard array methods, and the other half could be defined with much less code. –  Lev Levitsky Nov 15 '13 at 19:44

Echoing the comments about how much code there is, but here's one of your functions rewritten, so you can generalize this to your others:

Thanks this is on the right track, but I'm looking for a way to do it so all of the data for each person is displayed at a time, instead of showing data for multiple people per quiz. So, I want to print all the scores for one person, and then move on to the next person. –  Shankar Kumar Nov 15 '13 at 22:51
Then you can switch the two "for" loops, so the `student_quiz_scores` wraps `the_averages`. –  JLLagrange Nov 15 '13 at 22:55
