I have a 3D point cloud (XYZ) which the Z is elevation. I want to discretize the point cloud by embedding in into a uniform 2D grid and then in each grid cell segment the point set (inside the grid) into multiple layers using local distance-based region growing.
For example, in a range of 0 <= (x,y) <= 20, there are 500 point. Let's say the xy-plane has n*m partitions, e.g. 4*4; I mean in x (and y) direction we have 4 partitions with an interval of 5 (to make it 20 at maximum).
Now, each of this meshes should have multiple layers.
