i know you are not suppose to ask two questions but the first one is very simple(but i cant figure it out because i have not worked with floats).

  1. In this line of code i have(i got it off the internet), i am trying to make a slideshow and i want it to wait 1.5 seconds before switching. How would i change it from a integer to a float?

this is the brief version:

SECONDS_BETWEEN_PICTURES = float(1.5)
glib.timeout_add_seconds(self.SECONDS_BETWEEN_PICTURES, self.on_tick)

i have tried this:

glib.timeout_add_seconds(float(1.5), self.on_tick)

but this does not work either.

  1. I am trying to stop the slideshow on the last picture. I have tried:

        self.window = gtk.Window()
        self.window.connect('destroy', gtk.main_quit) #<------here is some code that is involved
        self.window.set_title('Slideshow')
    
        self.image = ResizableImage( True, True, gtk.gdk.INTERP_BILINEAR)

but this does not seem to work either. here is the full code:

1) timeout_add_seconds only works on whole seconds. To wait 1.5 seconds use the timeout_add API which accepts a millisecond resolution wait time. In your case 1500 milliseconds.

2) Why don't you invoke gtk.mainquit() directly when the condition is met?

The first seems to work, Thank you! the second one, i tried and does not seem to work. it stops on the last picture but does not exit(it may be my computer, but i get no errors when i run this.) – user3075053 Dec 6 '13 at 16:32
