I am building a JavaFX GUI for a DLP 3D printer. I need to be able to place multiple objects in the world and move them around and also turn the world around. Examples of these kinds of apps Makerware, PreForm, ReplicatorG and Cura

I started off with the MoleculeSampleApp. I chosee this app to start off with, because when I tried rotating things the world didn't rotate like other 3D printer GUI's. The world turned the way 3D objects turn in an application like Solidworks. It is probably the right way, but I needed the spinning/rotation way that MoleculeSampleApp is able to do. It is more user friendly to be able to see the object always from a certain angle while rotating

My loadObject method is a modification of the buildMolecule method of MoleculeSampleApp objectMainContainerXform was moleculeXform objectParentXform was oxygenXform

I wrote an event handler for the mouse dragging behaviour and based it off the handleMouse() method of MoleculeSampleApp

My problem is when the camera turns around and I move the mouse left the object goes right. I also tried turning the scene (world) and it caused the same problem. So all I can think is I need a way to turn the origin after the camera has been moved. I can't don't have any other clue. I don't know if I am supposed to rather turn every object. Don't know how I will do that and set the pivot points in the correct places. I want to design for unlimited (memory limited) number of objects

Edit 1

I am seeing a possible solution, but now I don't know if it is JavaFX that has a bug or my app. I removed the EventHandler from the object and now I have only the one on the Scene. If I use getX() and getY() I get positive values when I go to the right and negative values when I go left. If I turn the scene around I get negative right and positive left. That is now correct.

The problem now is that when I move over different objects in the scene the X and Y jump to that object's X and Y it seems.

Clicked on the main object and dragged left over to the bracelet. The numbers with stars show how the Y position just jumped. The target is still the same object that I started on

Test 4

I switched the scene camera on, but with false in the constructor of the camera and I changed the distance to 55 so that it is easier to work with and moved the camera -150 on X and -125 on Y. I don't get any jumping of numbers

I logged a jira, RT-35178. If you guys agree with this as an error please go vote for the jira. If I am correct this means with PerspectiveCamera(true) it will not be possible to move objects around the screen without hickups. When changing to PerspectiveCamera(false) it seems to work, but (true) has been recommended on a couple web pages for when you need to move the camera

This problem was related to my other question at JavaFX JDK 8: When turning the camera around the coordinate system turns around, but not the mouse coordinates. Please have a look at that question for the answer
