Android programming eclipse getSupportFragmentManager() is undefined

Question

I know there are other posts on this question but I really dont know how to apply it to my situation. Im a new programmer and Im trying to work with some templates I found online. Im trying to make the forgot password button to work. The error im getting is The method getSupportFragmentManager() is undefined for the type LoginFragment

getSupportFragmentManager() is a method of FragmentActivity class.

Replace

FragmentManager fm = getSupportFragmentManager();

with

FragmentManager fm = getActivity().getSupportFragmentManager();

provided that your activity extends FragmentActivity class.

This could be because BaseFragment, which LoginFragment is inherited from is not part of the android support library and just a part of the native sdk. If that is the case, I would just use getFragmentManager() as it does not rely on the android support library.
