I'm having an OutOfMemoryException when I enable taking screenshot during my test with Robotium.

[2014-01-09 10:53:28 - MyAppTest] Test run failed: Instrumentation run failed due to 'java.lang.OutOfMemoryError'

At the end of this message you can find the logcat error.

As you can see in the code below I've a variable that let me decide if I want to take screenshot or not; if I enable taking screenshot I've the error above after I run about 10 test methods (I take from 1 to 10 screenshot for each test).

This is the code I run:

You can reduce the memory used by saving a lower-quality image for the screenshot.

int quality = 50; // On a scale of 1-100
solo.takeScreenshot("login_001_c", quality);

But there may be a memory leak in robotium that's causing the problem. If so you should file an issue here https://code.google.com/p/robotium/issues/list

I tryed reducing quality but I have the same error. Could you give me a link to the issue about memory leak? I can't find it. –  Flavio Capaccio Jan 10 '14 at 10:15
