i am creating android application that encrypt and decrypt a string i am using the cipher algorithm the app work fine with the encryption but when i try to decrypt the system display an error :

01-10 09:50:54.364: E/AndroidRuntime(602): Caused by: javax.crypto.IllegalBlockSizeException: last block incomplete in decryption

can anyone help me to fix this error ??

You have to use the same key for decryption and encryption

SecretKey SKey = kg.generateKey();

This creates a new key for both operations. You need to use the same key.

Change the following methods:

create a new field in your class:

private SecretKey SKey;

and add these lines in your onCreate method:

SKey = kg.generateKey();

It's up to your application how to store the key. Maybe store it in private preferences. Does it only live a short time then maybe as a field in the class. Maybe store a key at application start up and use that. That is up to you. I don't know why or what you are encrypting. –  doorstuck Jan 10 at 8:45
