I am creating an android application to track user location using Google maps v2 and GPS and calculate the distance. I know Google play services is not supported on emulator so I was recommended to use blue stack. I did and Google play services seem to be installed as there are no error telling me to update(I did it the first time bluestack ask me) but the activity did not run.

the log cat does not appear to have any message, I clear log and run it again and it does not have it. I think the problem is when I run and choose the blue stack emulator, the "target" where it usually state the API is a exclamation mark and "?". I think I faced this problem with my virtual emulator and once I select it the error is gone. but how do I select the target for bluestack? I cannot do it through the AVD manager.

another reason why I think that is I am able to successful run my program on my real phone. with the target displayed when I choose it. This is the screenshot output. although the location is inaccurate. it is supposed to be more to the upper left in one of the blk. though the surrounding is correct.

Google Map

I am the blue dot right?why does the location seems off? and there is no "you are here" displayed. I am trying to running on emulator for my presentation but running on my phone to test whether the function is correct first. if I can't display on emulator, I at least want to have the correct function. 1)how do I make the gps more accurate? it follows me but only the surrounding are correct, sometimes not in the exact spot. it also "jumps" from place to place when updating location on its own. i want to make it flow and create a line where it shows where I have been. does building affect the gps accuracy? 3)how do I calculate the distance after I walked?can Google matrix distance API calculate accumulated(not linear) distance? I have manually calculate distance I old project, not accurate so I have not add them to my codes, but should I work on that or uses other services? I seem to cannot display toast in my map so should I want to display the distance in a text view on the same page as the map.
