my android app function is displaying accumulated distance through gps when the person is walking. when i run my output becomes 1.093507E7 . why is there the E7? it did display on my textview but then it crash soon after.

E7 is the exponent in scientific notation. It represents 10 to the power of 7. –  NickT Jan 30 at 6:56
    
so how do i make it display in numbers only? and do you know why does my app crash? i believe it is 1.093507E76412915.0 where it add this 1.093507E7 to 6412915.0. how do i increase the value instead of increasing the length? –  Myst Jan 30 at 7:14

You can avoid the E7, which is scientific notation for big flotaing point numbers, by converting the floating number to an integral value:

long distanceMeters = distance.
// or round(distance);

However 1E7 means 10 millions, so there is a calculation error in your app. (A common source of error is to measure the distance to initial invalid coordinate (0,0)
