I want to add some data values in a SQLite database at the click of a Button.
In the code given below I am not able to access the constructor (DatabaseHandler db = new DatabaseHandler(this);) in the Button's on click listener.
How can I enter the value of variables str1 and str2 into database at the click of the Button?

If you want to initialize DatabaseHandler db instance inside onClick method of OnClickListener then pass Activity Context to DatabaseHandler class constructor using AndroidSQLiteTutorialActivity.this instead of this which refer to the onClick method context. do it as:

   button.setOnClickListener(new OnClickListener() {
    @Override
    public void onClick(View arg0) {
        // TODO Auto-generated method stub
          // your code here..
       db = new DatabaseHandler(AndroidSQLiteTutorialActivity.this);
       // Insert str1 and str2 in db here
          Log.d("Insert: ", "Inserting ..");
       db.addContact(new Contact(str1, str2));
       //...your code here
    }
 });

Suggestion instead of using in-line code create an method which take str1 and str2 as parameter then do all insertion related code inside separate method

Perfect. I just need to ask three thing to you. First, How this solve problem (means please describe problem to me.) Second, How long experience you have in programming. Third, what should I need to do, for not do these kind of silly mistakes? –  Android Developer Feb 14 at 16:28
