I'm trying to display data from a vtk-dataset (UnstructuredGrid) using mayavi, without opening the gui. The dataset has point and cell data (included below).

I'm a bit lost as to how to select the different data arrays:

flag=1: The point data is a vector (displacement), so I'd like to display the y-component on the surface. How do I correctly apply the Extract-filter?

flag=2: The element data are scalars (element numbers). this one works.

flag=3: How to display tensor components?

Many thanks in advance for any help.
