I have AWS hourly weather data of past few years. I was trying to extract daily data from it using .indexhour() in xts. The logger accumulate the rainfall amount 04:00:00 to 03:00:00.

rf.d<-w.ts$RF
rf.d<-rf.d[.indexhour(rf.d) %in% 3]

but this omits days with no 3 o'clock records. This became trouble when I merge with maximum of AT.MAX and other xts object (after removing time portion from row names) as there were observation on the omitted dates.

This could be avoided if days without 3 o'clock observation was filled with maximum of previous day data. Kindly help me out.
