So I have this code, what I'm trying to do is to receive stamp orders from the front end of the web app. After I received the stamp orders. I'll split the orders into single stamp orders then filter them to approved and disapproved stamp orders. After filtering them, I'll send an email to the recipient about their stamp orders.

Does anything change if you change <int:service-activator input-channel='sendChannel' ref='sendMailChannel' method="sendOrder"> </int:service-activator> to <int:service-activator input-channel='sendChannel' ref='sendMailChannel' method="sendOrder"/>? I'm looking in MessagingMethodInvokerHelper and it's a bit hairy... –  Paul Hicks Mar 11 at 2:52

You have both a channel and a service called ApprovedOrderCreator; the framework is trying to use the channel as a handler for the transformer.

You need to give these elements unique names.

This is a tipical issue around queue channels: they are pollable. So, you have to configure <poller> component as global one, or in the endpoint which uses that queue as an input channel: docs.spring.io/spring-integration/docs/latest-ga/reference/html/… –  Artem Bilan Mar 11 at 7:47

What do you mean? Yes, the poller will continue to poll for new messages - the framework doesn't know there are only 3 messages. Remove the queue element to make the flow entirely passive (runs on the calling thread). –  Gary Russell Mar 14 at 12:44
    
@GaryRussell I fixed the poller error. I removed the queue element. And my orderGenerator only made 3 instances of the order object then passed it inside a list. Though the it still runs infinitely. It supposed to end when all the orders in the list has been processed and sent to their respected recipients. –  Jet Waitforit Torres Mar 17 at 1:57
