I am trying to encrypt decrypt data using AES algorithm in android using Base64. I am able to encrypt data but having problem in decrypting data(it is showing no result when i click on decrypt button). Earlier also i have used AES algorithm in PHP and it is working very fine! I am not able to get what is going wrong here(in android). I am uploading my code which i have done in android, plzzz help me out...

Your problem is that in your decrypt() function, instead of using raw for the key like you did in encrypt(), you use call getBytes() on a string. Since you didn't specify a character encoding in the call to getBytes(), you will get the system default, which is probably UTF-16. This would mean that the bytes returned are not 'T','h', etc., but rather 'T',0,'h',0, etc.

A different key for decryption means that the result will be random looking garbage.

The solution is to either specify "UTF-8" for the encoding in getBytes(), or, better, just use raw like you did in encrypt().

I tried replacing "getBytes()" with "raw" in decrypt() function but that didn't work...I am still not getting any value when clicked on decrypt button. Is there any other reason for this? – user3360750 Mar 21 '14 at 8:10
