I'm trying to sort arrays by using byte pointers.. By this, I mean I don't want to know the given type of the array. Sort of a generic-sort without templates.

So far, my algorithm (bubble sort) seems to be working with sorting only Integer arrays. However, I cannot figure out why the same algorithm won't sort char or float arrays.. I took my algorithm from an old post I wrote with the solution being: http://ideone.com/UagOGp and changed it to use bytes instead..

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

EDIT: SOLVED.. The above code will work.

I'm doing it for an experiment and so that I can port it to a language that does NOT have templates or generics. I used reinterpret_cast to change the void pointer back to its real type. Guess I could change it to static_cast but I doubt it'd make a difference? –  Brandon Mar 25 at 0:30

On PtrSwap you are iterating but each iteration does the same thing. What did you mean to do? –  imreal Mar 25 at 0:33
