I am trying to emulate multiple requests from http.HandleFunc to function which makes changes to sqlite database. I assume that function which is called by http.HandleFunc is actually goroutine. See code below:

When multitasking.db does not exists all works fine:

When i hit multitaskingdb again, this causes panic:

Random remark: Why not use a for loop to start the populating goroutines? –  Volker Apr 24 at 12:13
    
@Volker For loop works fine, but i like goto statement and found it good describing loops. –  DjJeshk Apr 24 at 14:33

According to the documentation of the sqlite3 package, you should have one connection per goroutine and not a single connection shared by several goroutines.

From https://godoc.org/code.google.com/p/go-sqlite/go1/sqlite3:

Concurrency

A single connection instance and all of its derived objects (prepared statements, backup operations, etc.) may NOT be used concurrently from multiple goroutines without external synchronization. The only exception is Conn.Interrupt(), which may be called from another goroutine to abort a long-running operation. It is safe to use separate connection instances concurrently, even if they are accessing the same database file. For example:

I haven't noticed that. I inserted into goroutine same initialization code - db, err := sqlite3.Open("file:"+dbname+"?file:locked.sqlite?cache=shared&mode=rwc"), renamed db to db2 and this problem disappeared. But now it inserts only approx. 8 rows from 128, others not, looks like table was locked by another requests. –  DjJeshk Apr 24 at 15:06

Instead of using a timer, you shopuld probably use a WaitGroup (or a channel) to ensure that all your goroutines are done inserting before doing anything else with the database. –  Jeryagor Apr 24 at 15:32
    
I'd say locking the DB from another gorouting should make a request to perform an action on that DB made from another goroutine just block waiting on the lock. –  kostix Apr 24 at 17:07
