I have this strange issue with java IO, in combination with AES encryption. I am writing some encrypted text to a binary file, appending \n at the end of text. Say, my beautiful string... look! Another of my beautiful strings...

When I read the data back, I get the following text in return with a lot of extra tabs: my beautiful string... look! Another of my beautiful strings...

Here is my self-contained code:

At the very least, you are ignoring the return value if the InputStream.read() method, so with the very high probability you are not reading the entire file. –  Oleg Estekhin Apr 30 '14 at 7:36
    
I didn't get you. How am I not reading complete file? I get first character and last character printed, what's behaving odd is a character in the mid. –  seekme_94 Apr 30 '14 at 7:43
    
Ah, i see - you are also writing two separate blocks of encrypted data into the same file and later reading and decoding them as one single block. –  Oleg Estekhin Apr 30 '14 at 7:54

Ok! I got it. You cannot just append the encrypted text to a file. One way of solving this is extracting existing text from the file, append the new text, encrypt and write in the file again. This doesn't seem to be a good solution, but in my case, where there is little text in a file, this can work.
