I can not transfer a taken photo with the imagePickerController in CamViewController to the next ViewController - CameraViewController - via segue. I try to set the taken image on the CameraViewController, but it never shows up.


Update 20140519

Working solution. I had to copy the selected photo to an UImage and not an UIImageView.image. So I created a new UIImage property and than it worked.

- (void)imagePickerController:(UIImagePickerController *)picker didFinishPickingMediaWithInfo:(NSDictionary *)info {

    UIImage *chosenImage = info[UIImagePickerControllerEditedImage];
//   self.imageView.image = chosenImage; This did not work. self.imageView.image was nil
    self.image = chosenImage;

    [picker dismissViewControllerAnimated:YES completion:NULL];
    [self performSegueWithIdentifier:@"toCameraView" sender:info];
}

And then I could transfer it without problem:

When you do this:

cvc.imageView = [self.imageView copy];

You're disconnecting cvc.imageView as a pointer to the view added in storyboards or xib. It now references a copy of the view you added in CamVC. You never add this view to the subview, so you never see it.

I think you'd be better off to do:

cvc.imageView.image = self.imageView.image;

The image exists, but strangly not in the self.imageView.image. I found a solution. will update soon – jerik May 18 '14 at 21:59

I think because the CameraViewController is not loaded yet and the self.imageView is probably nil. Create a property in CameraViewController which UIImage and set that in prepareForSegue Just try to NSLog self.imageView and check if it is nil.
