Im trying to make my own version of the game fall down. I am using a TiledMap to display rows that the player has to dodge. I have randomly selected gaps to be placed in those rows and it all works well. What I am stuck on is how to make the map scroll and generate new rows as the player progresses. I was thinking it would be best to delete the top rows and add a bottom row as it scrolls a certain amount. I just don't know where to start or what I should do.

To scroll i would use camera. You can scroll, by setting the cameras position to a position with a lower y value every frame. For the new objects you can do the following: If an object (a Tile) is out of Screen, change its y-Value to be one of the next row and set a random x value. –  Springrbua May 15 at 12:34

Oh you use Tiled... Thats actually not the right tool for this random thing. With Tiled you can create levels/maps, but you want to create maps at runtime so you should manage the tiles yourself. –  Springrbua May 16 at 5:56

Is much as i understood you want to generate a random tilebased level at runtime. And as much as i know Tiled is made to easily create levels as .tmx files and load them to libgdx. It is possible that you can use Tiled for this, but in my opinion thats not the best choice... –  Springrbua May 19 at 5:56
