I am creating a windows application in visual studio10 and sql server 2008r2.i want to save image in database and retrieve for updation.when i use image data type my query is executed correctly ,but for varbinary datatype it doesn't work.

I tried almost all options but in this case only i got error message.If i stored as image type,is there any problem for that?please give your valuable answers.I am a biginner in this area. –  Sinsil Mathew May 27 '14 at 17:19
    
I don't have my BLOB work on this machine :( I will try to remember to look when I get home. But you need to configure the database as well. You have to set it to file streaming and a bunch of other things. I can't remember off the top of my head the exact steps. I'll try find saved solution tonight- sorry it's not now :/ –  alykins May 27 '14 at 17:25

This was from a while back, so it may need some tinkering with paths and what-not (from an old project)
