I'm building a REST endpoint to authenticate (login) users. I'm using a custom authentication provider for this.

My context.xml file is as follows

Why isn't authenticationManager being injected at the endpoint? In that last class I also had "authDao" as @Autowired but it didn't get injected either until I replaced it by @Inject annotation. But I can't use @Inject with authenticationManager since it does not recognizes it as an bean.

Any ideas?

Your REST endpoint is not being created by Spring but by your JAX-WS container, and Spring never sees it. You'll need to make that instance visible to Spring or acquire the authentication manager in a different way. – chrylis Jun 6 '14 at 17:29
    
@chrylis I forgot to say it's using RESTEasy since it's deployed on JBoss AS7. How do I make it visible to Spring? Wasn't the @Component directive required? Should I declare it as a bean? – Andres Rovira Jun 6 '14 at 23:19
    
No, that will just create a separate instance. Look at the @Configurable option in my post. – chrylis Jun 7 '14 at 2:33

I don't know why, but Spring beans weren't being injected, as my custom classes were. I solved this by doing a "dirty" thing. In the autenticar method of my REST endpoint, I added the following code:
