I am trying to compile and run my but I am getting this error. I am not sure how to fix this. This is the code error I am receiving in terminal. I have looked at other pages in reference to this but I cannot seem to find a solution.

To much code for that error. You could very easily have createa a Minimal, Complete, and Verifiable example and shown us. The important thing is the pow call, the rest of the code is just in the way. –  Joachim Pileborg Jul 12 at 13:16

Regarding the error, look at it again, read all the text. What does it tell you? What alternatives does it give you? How would you try to make your call match one of the alternatives? –  Joachim Pileborg Jul 12 at 13:17

Am I the only one that finds it odd you're invoking std::pow at all? You're squaring a simple difference. Ex: what is preventing you from simply: (x2-x1)*(x2-x1) ? If you want more precision, cast one term to a deeper int type. –  WhozCraig Jul 12 at 13:31

Convert the first parameter to long double, double, float so the compiler can chose one of the options for you.

To do this use a cast
