at the moment im trying to implement a FIR lowpass filter on a wave file. The FIR coefficients where obtained using MATLAB using a 40 order. Now i need to implement the FIR algorithm in C# and im finding it difficult to implement it.

Any help?

Im having difficulty to implement this series: y[n]=b0x[n]+b1x[n-1]+....bmx[n-M] where y[n] is the output answer and x[n] is the input I got no idea how to implement it in C# thanks –  Tristan Demanuele Mar 18 '10 at 17:57

How about this:

    for (int yi = 0; yi < n; yi++)
    {
        double t = 0.0;

        {
            if (yi - bi < 0) continue;

            t += b[bi] * x[yi - bi];
        }
        y[yi] = t;    
    }
    return y;
}

i tried the code out and it didnt work or im doing something wrong... my parameters are: 220500 samples, 40 orders (FIR filter). is there any chance to adapt the above coding to my solution ? –  Tristan Demanuele Mar 18 '10 at 19:19
