Could someone tell me why the following won't compile?

@ereOn: Unfortunately wrong -- this is only about a page long. I've generated one that was over four pages long (and included a single template instantiation whose type had a name over a page long when you expanded out all the template parameters). –  Jerry Coffin Jul 21 '10 at 15:31

aComp is a nonstatic member function of B, so you need to bind to the this pointer as well:

tr1::bind(&B::aComp, this, tr1::placeholders::_1, tr1::placeholders::_2)
