ViewStub inside custom view returning 'ViewStub must have a valid layoutResource'

Question

I have implemented a custom view like this:

The view above is inflated inside a PagerAdapter, as this:

What I am doing wrong ? Is there a better approach to inflate the header view other than inside instantiateView ?

USE

android:layout="@layout/xyz"

instead of

layout="@layout/xyz"
