I'm using a cfc to transform ASP.NET webservice data into a coldfusion query object. I return that query object with a getJSON call in my jquery code. But, the returned data is formatted as a wddx packet rather than a JSON dataset, and the code seems to not be completing. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

I can confirm that it IS a bona fide well-formed query object returned from the getInternetUsage() function (below). I'm at a loss as to why it is coming through as a WDDX packet.

You need to tell us what version of ACF or Railo you are using. ACF8 has a bug where you need to delete the onrequest() method in the application.cfc when calling remote functions:

also, you should fire up the developer tools in chrome and inspect the response you're getting from your ajax request.

This is for CF8 and CF9: In the CFFUNCTION you can specify: returnFormat="json"

Also, on any CFC call, you should be able to append the URL variable: &return_format=json

and get back JSON

What Coldfusion version is your server running? I know CFMX7 and older do not support returning json from a cfc. In my exepience when CF encounters an unknown return format, it uses the default (wddx).
