I wish to multiply 2 polynomial 'arrays' in C.I am able to successfully initialise ,store and display them,but I cannot find why the mulpoly() gives vague answers(v. large nos.).Please help if you can spot it.

This was compiled in visual c++ .

Use calloc instead of malloc to initialize the contents of buffer to 0.

I'm pretty sure it's the "opposite" : p=calloc(1+d1+d2,sizeof(int)); –  kaharas Jan 2 '11 at 13:40

You don't initialize the contents of the buffer you get from malloc in mulpoly, so you're starting with garbage values. You need to initialize those values to zero. I can't be sure that's the only problem, but it's a place to start.
