I had a a problem in implementing a Multiple Source File

My function is like this:

But whenever I put it in the header file like this :

string getInput(char *data);

I always get plenty of errors like undeclared identifier, int string redefinition and so on...

Anyone can you help me?

term does not evaluate to a function taking 2 arguments 'checkday' : undeclared identifier 'int string' : redefinition syntax error : missing ';' before identifier 'checkyear' left of '.c_str' must have class/struct/union left of '.size' must have class/struct/union 'return' : cannot convert from 'const char *' to 'int' 'convertInt' : inconsistent return statement –  Andro Feb 9 '11 at 6:07
    
'dateFormatChecker' : inconsistent return statement 'strcpy_s' : function does not take 2 arguments 'string' : ambiguous symbol 'std::vector' : 'string' is not a valid template type argument for parameter '_Ty' missing type specifier - int assumed. Note: C++ does not support default-int cannot overload functions distinguished by return type alone I remove the other Errors because its too many.. –  Andro Feb 9 '11 at 6:07

I think the order of header #includes might be the source of the problem.

Then there's a greater evil at work - the order you put your #includes should generally not affect your program's ability to compile. –  Cam Feb 9 '11 at 6:50
    
What about the order of the includes? These are my headers:#include <iostream> #include <sstream> #include <vector> #include <string> #include <cstring> #include <stdio.h> #include <conio.h> #include <stdlib.h>#include "Function.h" –  Andro Feb 10 '11 at 0:54
    
cyclic dependency perhaps? class A references class B, which in itself references class A –  darkphoenix Feb 10 '11 at 11:16

Regarding this error:

'string' is not a valid template type argument for parameter '_Ty'

and

ambiguous symbol 'std::vector'

Are you being consistent with your usage of "std::" versus "using namespace std;"?

tnx for the information guys.. i finally got the right codes.

first i must put headers on the function so that it wont prompt some errors.

THen I will remove the usual header except the header that i made. and then I got it...
