I want to make an app to make appear and disappear circles on screen. Circles are enlarged on TouchesBegan and smaller on touchesEnd. I'm able to do it on ONE circle but i want to do that everywhere the user touch the screen. I know i have to work with NSThreads, but my example don't work.

This is a piece of my code:

you don't need a secondary thread to update the view. just use a delayed callback (NSTimer, targeting the main thread) to invalidate the areas you must draw, and keep track of the position of the nearest touch so you know where to center the drawing. the rect invalidation callbacks will be coalesced using the delayed callback, which is a bonus.

But without other thread, how it's possible that several circles can be smaller at the same time? –  mickcoco Feb 18 '11 at 10:55
    
you manage an event sequence over time. when drawRect is called, you base what you draw off the time of the draw invocation (e.g., the current time). so you'd need to track the event type, time, touch position and... (that's it?) for multiple events. using this information, you'd know what to draw, what size to draw, and how long ago the event happened (e.g., if you want to fade out). i hope that helps. –  justin Feb 18 '11 at 11:08
    
sorry i'm not able to do it works :( I tried to build an array with all shape i want to show (in a timer), and in another timer, i browse my array to draw every shape. but it didn't work... –  mickcoco Feb 18 '11 at 16:25
