I am trying to Building C Extensions of Python(3.2) on Windows use distutils. below is the code:(From Demo/embed/demo.c in the Python(3.1.3) source distribution)

I build the "setup.py" file like this:

and them I run the "setup.bat":

I can not understand what "cannot find -lmsvcr90" means?? And by the way,I use the compiler of DEV C++.(Is it the problem??)

msvcr90 is the Microsoft Visual C Runtime. The instructions for building on Windows only describe using Visual Studio; I don't know if it will work with dev C++. You can download free "Visual Studio Express" here.

thank you very much.I have solved the problem.I downloaded the VS2008 and found the file "msvcp90.dll" in the floder.Then I copy the "svcp90.dll" to the D:\Python32\libs,and run the "python.exe setup.py build -c mingw32" again,and I got the right result(pyd)! –  ahan Feb 28 '11 at 12:40
