I wrote a simple application to connect to a bluetooth mini keyboard but am having trouble with the BluetoothSocket.connect() call after getting it with createRfcommSocketToServiceRecord.

it gives discovery service failed. I have no problem using the bluetooth pairing and connect from the bluetooth settings menu. The same code works with a bluesnap serial to bluetooth device.

I've tried using reflection to invoke createRfcomm on all 30 channels, I've tried createInsecureRfComm both gives connection refused.

Am I missing something obvious?

I'm on galaxy tab froyo.

Samsung products are very good for users but they really sucks for developers. Suffering from too much issue on Samsung mobiles ONLY. –  AZ_ Mar 25 '11 at 8:04

the "bluetooth mini keyboard " is a HID keyboard. To open a connection to a HID device , you will need to use the L2CAP protocol, not RFCOM nor serial connection. See for example Teksoft Blueinput Android software. –  radhoo Oct 20 '11 at 15:37
