I began the creation of a C++ dynamic library in XCode. In the same project I have a target designated to test the library as I develop it, that links to the the dylib.

For that, I have changed the following debug configuration rules in the dylib target:
LD_DYLIB_INSTALL_NAME = $(CONFIGURATION_BUILD_DIR)/$(EXECUTABLE_PATH)

And, in the test target, i changed the following configurations:
FRAMEWORK_SEARCH_PATHS = $(CONFIGURATION_BUILD_DIR)
HEADER_SEARCH_PATHS = $(SRCROOT)

Both the library and the test target link to the Qt framework (therefore defining the QString present below).

Although I can successfully build the library using the debug configuration, when building the test target it fails to link against the library, giving me errors on undefined symbols.

The library has one class (for now):

and the .cpp file implements the methods signatured by the .h file. The error that the test target gives me while trying to build it is:

Undefined symbols:
  "Profile::MMAttribute<int>::MMAttribute()", referenced from:
      _main in main.o
  "Profile::MMAttribute<int>::setName(QString)", referenced from:
      _main in main.o
  "Profile::MMAttribute<int>::~MMAttribute()", referenced from:
      _main in main.o
      _main in main.o
ld: symbol(s) not found
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status

I have checked the install name of the dylib using the otool program and it gives me the right path. I have also tried to do the linking manually, without any luck.

I am wondering if XCode is not exporting the library symbols correctly (which it was supposed to do by having the pragma pre-processing directives).

Can you give me a help on this?

Update

Following the link given by Erik I found out that the problem was not in the linking process but in the class being a template. That lead me to conform to the Inclusion Model.

To solve the problem I just included the .cpp file in the .h file so that the linker is able to find out the template for a given class at linking time.

Given that, the files are now like this:
