hello I made a simple recording / pitch detecting program but it seems work weird way when I record "a~~~~~" then this program printing

(I am not a singer and I can't go up and down G0 and C3)

I am pretty sure that this is wrong result

could somebody help me?

What is the frame rate of your program? I mean, how many samples are used to detect pitch? And in fact, pitch is generally estimated via LPC->Whitening filter->Time correlator. Can you explain the algorithm you use to detect pitch? –  BasicWolf May 29 '11 at 9:37
    
this algorithm is "zero crossing". it calculate distance between zero crossing section and if distance is same as next distance, calculate hz –  kim taeyun May 29 '11 at 10:36
    
Then, it looks like you need to detect zero crossing in bigger frames, e.g. 3 ms. long. For 44.1 kHz-sampled signal, that would be 1323 samples. Also a good idea is to use overlapping, e.g. shift_size = frame_size / 3 –  BasicWolf May 29 '11 at 10:44
