When I load up my UIImagePickerController, I am getting:

warning: Unable to read symbols for /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport/4.3 (8F190)/Symbols/System/Library/Frameworks/IOKit.framework/IOKit (file not found).

When I take snapshot, I get a memory warning level 2.

Not unrelated - by the time dealloc is called three objects you're retaining have already been set to nil. You'll be calling release on nil! –  SK9 Jun 13 '11 at 1:35
    
Someone told me that only outlets have to be set to nil in viewDidUnlaod and then released in dealloc. Is that not correct? –  jini Jun 13 '11 at 1:48

@SK9: But they were set to nil with accessors, and thus released correctly. I don't see the issue. –  Wilbur Vandrsmith Jun 13 '11 at 1:52

@SK9: No, you can't. -viewDidUnload isn't guaranteed to be called before every dealloc. Look at the second link in my previous comment. –  Wilbur Vandrsmith Jun 13 '11 at 2:03

@jini: Yes, that's fine. In your -viewDidLoad method however, you should check that imgPicker isn't set (is nil) before you create it since this view may have been unloaded while the picker is presented. Also, you're leaking the picker controller since alloc returns an object with a retain count of +1, and then the self.imgPicker = setter retains it again. Wrap the alloc+init in an autorelease to fix. (this might be the cause of your memory warnings) –  Wilbur Vandrsmith Jun 13 '11 at 2:30
