I need to create a menu component in which each menu item looks like this:

icon label right-aligned-keyboard-shortcut

I tried creating a custom menu item renderer, but a) keyboard shortcuts are not right aligned b) there are a lot of issues with sub menus.

I also tried using data grids and panels and a mixture thereof to draw this kind of menu but it is too messed up.

Any pointers on how I can achieve this?

Neeraj.. I edited my question to include the source code. So you can see that I am creating a custom renderer, and then I need to display everything just like a normal menu. The submenu does not show up too well, and there is a problem with event handling. Any pointers will be great. –  Neo Jun 24 '11 at 13:23
    
Also, I was trying to do this with a MenuBar. I will include the source code for that also in a reply to this post in some time. SO is not allowing me to answer my own question since I have a rep < 100. :) –  Neo Jun 24 '11 at 13:24

This is my source code for the MenuBar experiment intending to the same thing - use a custom renderer to display a different type of menu.

P.S.: This is NOT the answer to this question. This post was created to separate the two approaches that I have taken.
