I have a problem with quad function in Matlab.

I write:

r = 65;
k = 6;
hmax = 50;
R = 50;

i = 0;
for dR = 0:0.001:1
 i = i + 1;
 h(1,i) = r*(1 - cos(asin((sqrt(2*R*dR + dR^2) + r*sin(acos((r - k)/r)))/r))) - k;
end

h(h<0) = 0;
h(abs(h)>hmax) = hmax;

figure
plot(0:0.001:1,h)
xlabel('dR/mm')
ylabel('h/mm')
grid on

figure
area(0:0.001:1,h)
xlabel('dR/mm')
ylabel('h/mm')
grid on

S = trapz(0:0.001:1,h)

q = quad(@hC,0,1)"

and i get

S =
 3.6477
dR =
 0.5000
??? Index exceeds matrix dimensions.

Error in ==> quad at 85
if ~isfinite(y(7))

Error in ==> stroj_C_krivulja at 36
q = quad(@hC,0,1)

can somebody help me, thanks.

if you don't know what hC is, at least plot out hC between 0 and 1. quad will complain if the function is undefined anywhere in that range (e.g. f(x) = 1/x) –  Rasman Jul 2 '11 at 13:56
