I used this command to convert a .pem file to a .jks one (source):

keytool -importcert -alias debian -file cert.pem -keystore cert.jks -storepass passwd

Here's the Mule file:

After experimenting with your config, I figured that a tls-key-store element is also needed.

The following HTTPS configuration allows "ConnectToHTTPS" to successfully hit an HTTPS outbound target:

                      storePassword="passwd"/>
    <https:tls-key-store path="${mule.home}/cert.jks"
                         keyPassword="passwd"

I'm getting unable to find valid certification path to requested target.... Does that mean I will have to have access to the private certificate? –  Tshepang Jul 13 '11 at 7:44
    
Nope, I tried with a public certificate that I retrieved from a site I was browsing over HTTPS. –  David Dossot Jul 13 '11 at 15:11

I directly imported the certificate I saved from the website with keytool, with no conversion. I exported it as a base64 encoded single certificate. –  David Dossot Jul 13 '11 at 15:19
