This is actually 2 questions in one, but both relate to DXUT.

  1. How do you configure a project to use DXUT in Visual Studio 2010? Do I need to add all of the header and source files to any project I want to use DXUT with? Can I just add ($DXSDK_DIR)\Samples\C++\DXUT\Core to my Include directories?

  2. Is there a D3D10 equivalent to:

    DXUTSetCallbackD3D9DeviceReset( OnResetDevice ); DXUTSetCallbackD3D9DeviceLost( OnLostDevice );

If not, why?

  1. Add ($DXSDK_DIR)\Include to your MSVS environment settings. Don't forget to add lib folder also.
  2. There is no LostDevice in DX10 any more. DX manages it itself.

I have the Include and Lib directories added. I've also copied the entire DXUT directory into my Source directory and added that to Include. No luck. – zooker Jul 25 '11 at 23:37

What exact errors do you have? It's all very strange for me. Do you add directories through Tools->Options->Projects and Solutions->VC++ Directories? Check that application target platform is similar for Libs directory (x86 or x64). Do you use #include <D3DX10.h> instead #include common "3DX10.h" – Hawk Jul 26 '11 at 5:00
    
I've edited the original post to include the source code and the errors. I also put my VS settings. I didn't #include <D3DX10.h> yet, I'm only trying to set the DXUT callback functions in WinMain so far. I've also tried $(DXSDK_DIR)Lib\x64 but no luck (it's Vista x64). Any idea where I'm going wrong? – zooker Jul 26 '11 at 9:35
    
Never mind. I got it to work. I had to include more lib files in the Linker Input. They weren't there in the tutorial project and it didn't have a problem building. Oh well, as long as it works now. – zooker Jul 26 '11 at 10:27
