i am working the a project. what i need to do is extract image from PDFs file. it is a bit different from the similar questions. the PDFs are like these. Documents are printed out first, then they will be scan into PDF format. And there are bar-code over there. i need to extract to bar-code from PDFs only (using rectangle), not the converting the whole PDF into image. and the image format can be jpg/png

anyone has idea? i tried iText and pdfbox but fail, plz help

You can use Pdfbox

Try jpedal, that will work. It can extract almost any type of objects (images, text..)

seems to be a bit more difficult, because pdf files consist of different media-boxes, which results in relative positions. –  Animated Clocks Aug 15 '11 at 10:36

PDFDecoder API from JPedal will help you extract the words.

Now, iterate through the list for the words in PDF. Hope it works. Thanks!
