I can't figure out why my PNG images are loading as distorted images when I try to render them with the NDK & OpenGL. The PNGs are in my assets folder, and they have an alpha layer. Here's how I'm fetching them from the assets folder:

what format is the input image (png) - palette, rgb or rgba ? – fazo Sep 5 '11 at 21:20
All the images are alpha format--that is to say, this code gets hit each time: if (color_type & PNG_COLOR_MASK_ALPHA) { png_set_strip_alpha(png_ptr); } (Proven through debug statements not shown) – GJTorikian Sep 5 '11 at 21:31
alpha format? half of image formats have alpha. how pixel format in png looks like? bits per color. – fazo Sep 5 '11 at 22:11
The color type is 6; the bit depth is 8--which is RGBA. I'm actually not sure how to calculate the bits per color with this info :O – GJTorikian Sep 5 '11 at 23:07
Crap, figured it all out; I switched for (i = 0; i < height; ++i) row_pointers[height - 1 - i] = tmpTex->data[0] + i * rowbytes; to for (i = 0; i < height; ++i) row_pointers[i] = tmpTex->data[0] + i*rowbytes; I'd love to give you some answer credit if possible, since we're doing this all in comments. – GJTorikian Sep 12 '11 at 0:05
